Gobindgarh Fort, Amritsar - Punjab Tourism

In 1760 Gujjar Singh Bhangi, a Local chieftain, built this as a mud fortress and it came to be known as Bhagian da Qila After many years Maharaja Ranjit Singh took over the fort in his regime. Various type of old armament are displayed. Finally, recognizing the historic significance of this fortified precinct, in 2006 the GoI handed over the vacant possession of the fort for protection and conservation to Government of Punjab. The lazer, light and sound show as well as a play named The Whispering Walls on the bravery show case of maharaja Ranjit Singh is shown every evening.
